A 55-year-old man has been taken into custody following allegations of murdering his wife and harboring her body at their residence for four days. Bharat Singh, residing in Ghaziabad, reportedly made a dramatic revelation when the overpowering stench emanated from their home. He sat outside, proclaiming his guilt to neighbors, urging them to summon law enforcement.
The incident unfolded in a rented flat within a housing colony in Ghaziabad. According to Senior Police Officer Naresh Kumar, the victim, Sunita (51), was discovered deceased in the flat. “We received information from neighbors that Bharat had strangled his wife, Sunita, to death.
Upon arrival, we found her body within the residence,” Kumar stated. He further indicated that the murder likely occurred around three days prior. Bharat Singh, the suspect, confessed during interrogation, citing a family dispute as the motive behind the fatal altercation. The authorities have notified the deceased woman’s family and arranged for an autopsy, with investigations ongoing.

One neighbor expressed concern, admitting ignorance of the crime until Singh’s admission. “Her body remained in the house for 4-5 days until the police arrived to recover it,” the neighbor remarked.
Another recounted Singh’s startling declaration, describing how he publicly confessed to the deed. “We were taken aback. He sat outside, shouting, ‘I have killed my wife, please arrest me.’ So, we promptly alerted the authorities, leading to the discovery of the body. We have no further demands,” the neighbor asserted.
