The Vedic rituals preceding the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Shri Ram Lalla at the Ayodhya temple progressed into the fourth day on Friday. During this phase, the sacred fire was lit, followed by the installation of ‘Navagraha’ and ‘Havan.’ The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Shri Ramlalla is scheduled to take in the Ram temple of Ayodhya on January 22, for which preparations are underway at a rapid pace.
The fourth day of rituals at the temple began at 9:00 am today, which was followed by the placement ceremony of Shri Ram Lalla’s idol within the sanctum sanctorum of the temple on Thursday. The consecration ceremonies that Ram Lalla’s idol will undergo include ‘Aushadhivas’ (medicinal abode), ‘Kesaradhivas’ (saffron abode), ‘Dhritashivas’ (flower abode), and Pushpadhivas. Subsequently, the idol will be adorned with saffron and later with grains.
The doors of the temple will remain closed to visitors until January 22 and will reopen the following day. Amidst preparations for a grand ceremony in Ayodhya, posters of Ram Lalla have been set up at various locations in the city. Additionally, selfie points have been established near Lata Mangeshkar Chowk, Naya Ghat, and at the intersection of Ram Path and Dharam Path.
Before ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony, ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ is being celebrated in Ayodhya. On Thursday, the idol of Lord Ram was placed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple in Ayodhya.
Meanwhile, today marked the first appearance of the idol of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, although his face is currently concealed. Crafted by the renowned sculptor from Karnataka, Arun Yogiraj, the idol of ‘Ram Lalla’ stands 51 inches tall and weighs 1.5 tonnes. Depicting Lord Rama as a five-year-old child standing on a lotus made of the same stone.
