Chandauli : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of this tragic incident. He has directed officials to reach the spot and provide relief work to the affected families. Four people have died after inhaling poisonous gas while cleaning the septic tank in a house in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh.
It is noteworthy that the septic tank was emptied at the house of Bharatlal Jaiswal, a resident of plot number two of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar, located in the Mughalsarai Kotwali area of Chandauli. Three cleaning workers had arrived on Wednesday night.
Cleaners Vinod Rawat, Kundan and Loha, residents of Kalimahal, entered the septic tank about 12 feet deep to clean and fell unconscious due to the poisonous gas inside. To save them, the landlord’s son Ankur Jaiswal entered the tank and he also got hit by the gas. All four were somehow taken out and transported to the district hospital, where doctors declared all of them dead.
In this matter, Kalimhal councilor representative Nitin Gupta reached the spot and demanded from the district administration to give compensation to the cleaning workers. Mughalsarai area officer Anirudh Singh said on Thursday morning that while cleaning the septic tank, four people including three cleaning workers and a youth were exposed to poisonous gas.
All four have died. Further action is being taken after taking possession of the bodies and conducting post-mortem. Every possible effort is being made to pacify the families of the victims and provide all possible help.
