Panik gripped in village Amba situated under Kaundhiyara police station after the death of four villagers due to cold in last twenty four hours.
Those who died untimely death included a 30-year-old woman and three elderly people. It seems that the cold in the district has now become deadly. The villagers who died includes a girl and three elderly people.
The health of Shakuntala Devi (61), wife of Dayashankar Mishra, retired teacher Phoolchand (65) of the village had deteriorated due to cold.
When his condition worsened, he was admitted to a private hospital in the city. Both died during treatment. Similarly, Anju Devi (30), daughter of Krishna Prasad of the village, died due to cold on Thursday night.
Anju Devi was in her house when health suddenly deteriorated with shivering at night. By the time he was taken to the hospital, he was dead. Kali Prasad (63), also from the village, died in a private hospital in the city. He was admitted after feeling cold. The villagers are in great panic due to four deaths in 24 hours.
