Former Andhra Pradesh CM And TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu Granted Anticipatory Bail In Angallu 307 Case

On October 13, the Andhra Pradesh High Court granted anticipatory bail to former Chief Minister and TDP (Telugu Desam Party) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu in the Angallu 307 case, among several other cases he is facing. The Angallu case stems from an incident in which the Andhra Pradesh police registered a case against Naidu and several other TDP leaders, accusing them of inciting an attack on ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) local leaders. Naidu has been booked for offenses including attempted murder in this case.

Currently, Chandrababu Naidu is detained in the Rajahmundry jail in connection with a multi-crore skill development scam case. The Andhra Pradesh High Court had previously granted anticipatory bail to Naidu on October 11 in the Amaravati inner ring road case, with an interim order preventing his arrest until October 16 in that case.

The former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister had been arrested by the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in the skill development case the previous month after his bail petition was rejected by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in Vijayawada.

In addition to these legal issues, Chandrababu Naidu has also moved to the Supreme Court after the Andhra Pradesh High Court denied him anticipatory bail in the AP FiberNet Scam Case, a matter the Apex Court is set to hear.

Amidst these legal battles, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy took the opportunity to accuse Naidu and his family of looting the state during a public meeting in Samarlakota on October 12. He claimed that Naidu, his son Lokesh, and others were involved in corrupt activities and questioned Pawan Kalyan, a prominent politician and actor, who had offered support to the TDP chief. Reddy questioned Kalyan’s intentions and commitment to the people of Andhra Pradesh, suggesting that he was only interested in political opportunism.
