Twitter blocks Pakistan Government's account in India
Twitter has blocked the Pakistan government’s official account in India in a response to the legal demand, said a notice on the social media platform on Thursday.
If anyone tries to access the official Twitter handle of the Pakistan government, it says, “Account Withheld @GovtofPakistan’s account has been withheld in India in response to a legal demand.”
According to the reports, this is the third time when Pakistan’s Twitter account has been restricted to be viewed or accessed in India.
The account, @GovtofPakistan, remained available for viewing and interaction from countries such as the United States and Canada, said the media reports.
Twitter, as well as India and Pakistan’s IT ministries, did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment.

Earlier, in October last year, the Twitter handle of the Pakistan government was blocked in the country.
Moreover, reportedly, it is the second such incident in recent months. This account was blocked earlier in July as well, however, it had been reactivated and was visible.
As per Twitter guidelines, the micro-blogging site takes such action in response to a valid legal demand, such as a court order.
Currently, the Twitter feed of the Pakistan government “@GovtofPakistan” is not visible to Indian users.
