First Woman Medical Officer, Captain Geetika Koul To Be Deployed At Siachen

As the first female Indian Army medical officer stationed at Siachen, the highest battlefield on earth, Captain Geetika Koul of the Snow Leopard Brigade has made history. Captain Koul reached this significant milestone following her completion of the demanding induction training at the esteemed Siachen Battle School.

The induction training covers a wide range of topics, including high-altitude acclimatisation, survival skills, and specialised medical procedures essential for functioning in the challenging conditions. It is regarded as a challenging test of physical and mental endurance.

“Captain Geetika Koul from the Snow Leopard Brigade becomes the first Woman Medical officer of the Indian Army to be deployed at the world’s highest battlefield, Siachen after successfully completing the induction training at Siachen Battle School,” Fire and Fury Corps of Indian Army said in a social media post.
