The lifeless body of Dalbir Singh Deol, displaying signs of injury, was discovered on a road in Basti Bawa Khel, Jalandhar, where he was stationed. Jalandhar Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma revealed that the incident initially appeared to be a hit-and-run case. However, upon further investigation and analysis of CCTV footage, authorities shifted their focus to Kumar as the prime suspect.
Shedding light on the motive behind the crime, Commissioner Sharma explained that the argument between the officer and the autorickshaw driver ensued when the latter refused to transport Deol to his village. The confrontation escalated, leading to Kumar forcibly taking Deol’s service pistol and using it to fatally shoot him.
