Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will lay the foundation stone for the Airport Express Metro on December 9, 2022.
The 31-kilometer-long project, which will start at Mindspace Junction and end at Shamshabad Airport, is fully funded by the state government and will be completed in three years.
The project will include both underground and elevated sections, with around 2.5 kilometers of the total stretch expected to be underground.
The Hyderabad Airport Metro Rail (HAML) will oversee the project, with 10 stations expected.
The state government has formed a special purpose vehicle, Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML), to manage the airport Metro link development, construction, operations, and management.
The GMR group, which operates the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), has announced that it will invest about 10% of the total cost of the proposed metro rail link project for connectivity to the airport from various parts of the city.
The project is expected to be completed in three years. Hyderabad Airport Metro Rail (HAML) is expected to oversee the project.
