Family Shares ‘Gut-Wrenching’ Details As Politicians React To Kolkata Doctor’s Rape-Murder

The tragic incident involving a 31-year-old trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has sent shockwaves across the nation. The victim’s family recently shared their harrowing experience in an interview, recounting the trauma they endured upon discovering the true nature of their daughter’s death. Initially informed that their daughter had died by suicide, the family was left in a state of confusion and grief as they waited outside the hospital for three agonizing hours before being allowed to see her body.

The victim’s father recalled receiving the devastating call from the hospital, where they were told that their daughter had taken her own life and that they needed to come immediately. However, as details began to emerge, the initial suspicion of suicide was cast into doubt, and the Kolkata Police later revised their stance on the case.

A relative who accompanied the parents to the hospital described the unbearable scene that unfolded when they were finally granted access to see the victim. The victim’s mother was inconsolable upon hearing the news, and the family was forced to wait outside for hours, pleading with hospital authorities to see their daughter’s body. When the father was finally allowed to enter, he was met with a horrifying sight—his daughter’s body was uncovered, and her legs were positioned at a 90-degree angle, suggesting severe trauma.

The gruesome details of the case have sparked outrage, with many demanding swift justice. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi expressed her deep sorrow and anger, calling for the fast-track courts to not only punish the accused but also those who attempted to cover up the crime by labeling it as a suicide. She urged the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to pursue the death penalty for the perpetrators, questioning how many more such tragedies must occur before women’s safety becomes a priority for the government.

Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla also responded to the victim’s family’s account, expressing his shock and condemning the brutality of the crime. The chilling details of the case have left the nation demanding accountability and justice, ensuring that this tragic loss is not forgotten.
