Inside Ayodhya Temple's Almost-Completed Sanctum Sanctorum For Lord Ram's Idol
The highly anticipated Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is nearing completion, with preparations in full swing for its grand opening next month. Champat Rai, the Secretary of the Ram Mandir Trust, shared exclusive photos of the nearly finished sanctum sanctorum, where the idol of Lord Ram will be placed.
In a social media post, Mr. Champat Rai expressed, “The sanctum sanctorum of Lord Shri Ramlala is almost ready. Recently, the lighting-fitting work has also been completed. Sharing some photographs with you.” The released images showcase the intricate details of the temple’s interior, highlighting the progress made in the construction process.
The Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust has been diligently overseeing the temple’s construction, sharing glimpses of the ongoing work, including the fine carvings adorning the structure. Earlier statements from Champat Rai revealed that the idol of Lord Ram, representing the five-year-old child form, is 90 percent complete. The finishing touches are expected to be concluded within a week.
Detailing the construction, Rai explained, “At Ram Janambhoomi temple, a 4’3″ idol depicting a five-year-old child form of Lord Ram is being constructed at three locations in Ayodhya. Three artisans are building the idol on three different pieces of stone, and one of the idols will be accepted by the Lord.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the inauguration on January 22, 2023. Vedic rituals for the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony will commence on January 16, a week before the main event. Lakshmi Kant Dixit will lead the significant rituals during the consecration ceremony.
In anticipation of a large gathering, several tent cities are being erected within Ayodhya to accommodate thousands of devotees expected for the grand opening. The Sri Ram Janambhoomi Trust aims to arrange for 10,000-15,000 people. Local authorities are working on heightened security measures and logistical arrangements to ensure a smooth and secure experience for all attendees during the ceremony. The event holds significant cultural and religious importance, marking a milestone in the construction of the Ram Temple.
