Exchange4Media Recognizes 40 Urdu Journalists, Including Rahmatullah And Mohammad Sameer From Bharat Express

Exchange4Media: Exchange4Media, an organization dedicated to boosting the morale and honoring the work of professionals in various fields, including journalism, organized a “Jashn-e-Sahafat” event to uplift and recognize Urdu journalists with a renewed spirit and energy.

During a grand event held at the India International Center in Delhi, Exchange4Media honored 40 Urdu journalists from across the country who have made commendable contributions to the field of Urdu journalism.

The program featured prominent guests such as former Chief Election Commissioner Dr. S.Y. Quraishi, Exchange4Media founder Dr. Anurag Batra, former Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University Firoz Bakht, Dr. Khalid Raza Khan, the editor of Bharat Express Urdu, journalists Khurshid Rabbani, Abdul Majid Nizami, Dr. Yamin Ansari, Dr. Harish Bhalla, Amberin Khan, and Suman Varma, along with other scholars, who presented awards to all the winners.

Among the awardees were two journalists from Bharat Express Urdu Digital, Rahmatullah and Mohammad Sameer, who received hearty congratulations from the entire Bharat Express team. The event also featured a session on the topic, “How impactful is Urdu media on a national scale?” moderated by Dr. Khalid Raza Khan, the editor of Bharat Express Urdu.

Renowned author and analyst Dr. Farhat Basir Khan, Munsoof TV’s National Bureau Chief Khurshid Rabbani, and Dr. Mohammed Yamin Ansari, Resident Editor of Daily Inqalab, participated in the debate. Several important questions about Urdu journalism were raised, and the future of Urdu journalism was discussed.

At the conclusion of the program, Dr. Anurag Batra, founder of Exchange4Media, mentioned that Urdu is the language of the heart and journalism in Urdu has a direct impact on people’s hearts. He expressed the organization’s commitment to boosting the morale of Urdu journalists and stated that this is the first edition of the program, with efforts to make it bigger and better in the coming years.

The chief guest of the program, former Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Zafar Sureshwala, during an exclusive conversation with Bharat Express, claimed that even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a deep affection for Urdu and a strong liking for the Urdu language.

Exchange4Media’s new initiative has sparked enthusiasm among Urdu journalists. In this first edition, more than 180 entries were received from young journalists connected to print, television, and digital media. Based on various criteria, around 80 journalists were shortlisted. Subsequently, on July 17, 2023, during a virtual “jury meet,” jury members assessed all levels and selected 40 journalists from this pool for the “e4m Urdu Journalism 40 Under 40” list. The announcement of their names took place during the event held on September 29th.
