Enforcement Directorate Conducts Raids On AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan’s Delhi Residences

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting searches at the premises of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan in connection with a money laundering case. These searches are being conducted under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

This action by the ED follows the filing of FIRs by both the Delhi Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The cases are related to alleged corruption concerning illegal appointments made to the Delhi Waqf Board, where Khan serves as the chairman.

Amanatullah Khan was previously arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau in September of the previous year in connection with the Delhi Waqf Board corruption case. His arrest was based on the discovery of alleged incriminating material and evidence. However, he was subsequently granted bail.

According to an official statement, Khan, in his capacity as the chairman of the Delhi Waqf Board, is accused of making illegal appointments of 32 individuals, disregarding established norms and government guidelines. Additionally, he faces allegations of corruption and favoritism.

These recent raids at the premises of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan come shortly after the arrest of another AAP leader, Sanjay Singh, in connection with the Delhi excise policy ‘scam.’ Singh, who is an AAP Rajya Sabha MP, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate from his residence in the national capital. He is the second prominent AAP leader to be arrested in the liquor policy case, following the former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. It’s worth noting that earlier, another AAP leader and former Delhi Health minister, Satyendar Jain, had been arrested in a separate case.
