Election Updates: Moderate Voter Turnout Recorded Till 11 AM

As the nation continues its multi-phased electoral process, several states recorded a moderate voter turnout in the initial hours of polling on Monday.

Andhra Pradesh:

At 11 AM on Monday, the Election Commission reported a 23.1 percent voter turnout for the 25 Lok Sabha seats and a 23 percent turnout for the 175-seat Assembly in the state. Polling commenced at 7 AM across the state and will continue until 6 PM.

Maharashtra:

A voter turnout of 17.51 percent was recorded till 11 AM in Maharashtra. Polling is underway in 11 of the 48 Lok Sabha constituencies. Polling percentages were as follows:

  • Nandurbar – 22.12 percent
  • Jalgaon – 16.89 percent
  • Jalna – 21.35 percent
  • Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar – 19.53 percent
  • Raver – 19.03 percent
  • Shirdi – 18.91 percent
  • Beed – 16.62 percent
  • Pune – 16.16 percent
  • Maval – 14.87 percent
  • Ahmednagar – 14.74 percent
  • Shirur – 14.51 percent

Madhya Pradesh:

Average voter turnout of 32.38 percent was reported across 8 Lok Sabha seats until 11 AM. Polling was ongoing in the fourth and final phase of the general elections. Among the 8 seats, polling percentages are as follows:

  • Dewas – 35.83 percent
  • Ujjain – 34.25 percent
  • Mandsour – 34.12 percent
  • Ratlam – 34.04 percent
  • Dhar – 32.62 percent
  • Indore – 25.01 percent
  • Khargone at 33.52 percent
  • Khandwa – 31.87 percent

Bihar:

Approximately 22.54 percent of the over 95 lakh voters in 5 Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar have cast their votes. The voting process for the 5 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, determining the fate of 55 candidates, commenced at 7 AM and will continue until 6 PM. Specifically, the voter turnout figures until 11 AM were as follows:

  • Samastipur – 23.69 percent
  • Munger – 22.85 percent
  • Ujiarpur – 22.79 percent
  • Darbhanga – 22.73 percent
  • Begusarai – 20.93 percent

Uttar Pradesh:

In Uttar Pradesh, 27.12 percent voter turnout was recorded by 11 AM. The voting, which began at 7 am will continue till 6 PM. 13 Lok Sabha constituencies are witnessing polling in the fourth round of the seven-phase general elections.

Meanwhile, the elections are being closely monitored amid security concerns, especially in Maoist-affected regions. The Election Commission is ensuring strict security measures to facilitate smooth polling processes across these states.
