BJP depends on PM Modi’s fame

Karnataka is the only southern state of India that is led by the BJP government, that too with a clear majority. BJP won 104 seats in the elections of the state. In July 2019, a rebellion by some Congress-JD(S) legislators led to the collapse of the coalition government, and the BJP’s return to power under BS Yediyurappa, the saffron party’s tallest leader in the state. In July 2021, Yediyurappa stepped aside to make way for Basavaraj Bommai, the incumbent chief minister.

Prahlad Joshi has said that “The Bhartiya Janata Party is ready for elections and we will form a government with an absolute majority once again”. Also, they have accused the State Party Chief, Shivakumar of corruption. They said that the congress leader is walking on the same path as the nig leaders of the party.
