Dr Rajeshwar Singh Warns Against Cultural Distortion In Education; Calls For Civilisational Revival

Sarojininagar MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh has voiced serious concerns over what he described as a ‘silent war on Hindu civilisation’, accusing the current education system of erasing India’s cultural and religious identity.

Dr Singh cited examples from school textbooks and warned that educators are rewriting history not to reflect the truth, but to obscure it.

Addressing a gathering in Lucknow, Dr Singh criticised the marginalisation of Hindu figures and traditions in school syllabi.

“Temples are being erased from textbooks, while invaders are glorified. Ram is called a myth, and Akbar is called history. Is this education or ideological brainwashing?” he asked.

Dr Rajeshwar Singh Highlights the Hidden Curriculum

Dr Singh accused the academic establishment of distorting cultural education and disconnecting young minds from their heritage. He pointed out that:

• Icons like Maharana Pratap, Raja Dahir, and Rani Durgavati receive little attention in history books.
• Indian sciences, philosophy, and temple architecture are largely ignored.
• Textbook authors label deities such as Ram and Krishna as myths, while they present Mughal rulers like Babur and Akbar as national heroes.

“This is not just distortion; it’s a disconnection from dharma, identity, and pride,” Dr Singh declared.

Dr Singh Praises Modi-Yogi Government’s Cultural Efforts

Dr Singh applauded the BJP government at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh for efforts aimed at restoring India’s civilizational roots. He credited the Modi-Yogi leadership for:

• Revising NCERT textbooks to include figures like Raja Suheldev, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and Guru Tegh Bahadur.
• Implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which promotes Indian languages, Ayurveda, and value-based learning.
• Reviving spiritual heritage sites, such as the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, and the Char Dham.
• Elevating global recognition of Indian culture through the promotion of Yoga, the Bhagavad Gita, and Sanskrit.

Dr Singh blamed previous governments for promoting colonial and left-leaning narratives that, he said, deliberately fragmented India’s dharmic identity. He accused them of:

• Downplaying temple destruction and ignoring Bhakti saints.
• Overlooking ancient Hindu sciences and intellectual traditions.
• Promoting a selective secularism that glorified invaders and suppressed indigenous knowledge systems.

A Call to Action for Indian Families

Urging citizens to take charge of this cultural revival, Dr Singh appealed to families to become torchbearers of Indian civilisation. He encouraged:

• Creating home libraries with the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Hindu biographies.
• Celebrating traditional festivals and questioning historical inaccuracies in textbooks.
• Helping children rediscover Bharat’s spiritual and cultural soul.

“Let us not be the last link in a broken chain. Let us keep Bharat’s flame alive,” Dr. Singh said in his closing remarks.
