Dense Fog Blankets Delhi-NCR, Flight Delays Reported, Yellow Alert Issued

Cold weather conditions persist in north Indian states. Thick fog blankets various parts of Delhi-NCR on Tuesday. The Delhiites were prepared for today’s weather after the Indian meteorological department issued a warning indicating chances of dense fog on Monday. The warning was accompanied by a yellow alert for the day. As a consequence of reduced visibility, several flights have been delayed in the national capital.

The weather department predicts mainly clear skies for Delhi on Tuesday, with expected maximum and minimum temperatures of around 18 and 7 degrees Celsius, respectively. On Monday, the maximum temperature recorded was 17.6 degrees Celsius, marking a three-notch drop below the season’s average. The minimum temperature was noted at 6.1 degrees Celsius, compared to the previous day’s 4.8 degrees Celsius.

Weather conditions in other states

Parts of Rajasthan, including Fatehpur in Sikar district and Alwar, continued to experience chilly weather and dense fog. Fatehpur recorded a low of 1.6 degrees Celsius, while Alwar’s night temperature was 2.8 degrees Celsius. The weather office predicts ongoing dense fog in some parts of the state. Similar conditions are expected to persist for the next 24 hours.

Haryana and Punjab also witnessed an escalation of cold weather conditions. Moderate to dense fog was reported in the morning across most places in both states. As winter continues to grip the region, residents are advised to stay informed about changing weather patterns and take necessary precautions.
