Demand To Register FIR Against NCP Leader Jitendra Awhad Over Controversial Statements On Hindu Deities

Resentment is visible among BJP leaders against former minister and MLA Jitendra Awhad’s derogatory remarks on Hindu deities and Hindu festivals. Accusing Awhad of hurting religious sentiments by making indecent comments on a procession taken out during Hindu festivals, a delegation of the Mumbai BJP met the Deputy Commissioner of Police and demanded the registration of an FIR against Awhad.

FIR against NCP leader Awhad

Explain that Nationalist Congress MLA and former minister Jitendra Awhad has tried to spread disharmony in society by terming Shri Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti procession as communal, Mumbai BJP Vice President Acharya Pawan Tripathi has filed an FIR against Awhad. According to Acharya Tripathi, in a meeting of the Nationalist Congress, Awhad made indecent remarks about Hindu deities.

Awhad is continuously making derogatory remarks about Hindu deities, Hindus, and Hindutva. In a tweet reported by ANI, Awhad wrote that it seems as if Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti are just to spread riots. The atmosphere of the city is deteriorating due to these riots. I think the coming days will be full of communal riots. Awhad made the above statement in a meeting of the Nationalist Congress Party held at Ghatkopar.

BJP leaders Acharya Pawan Tripathi and Tajinder Singh Tiwana gave a letter to the DCP

Acharya Pawan Tripathi said that Shri Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti are the main festivals of Hindus, which Hindu society has been celebrating for thousands of years. Hindus consider themselves descendants of Shriram, and Hanumanji is the ultimate devotee of Shriram, who is called Sankatmochak. Tripathi says that this statement of Awhad against Hindus has been given for political gain in municipal elections.

Indecent statement against Hindus

Opposing such statements made to appease minorities in the upcoming elections, Tripathi said that there was no need for such statements against Hindu deities who are worshipped by crores of people. Awhad has hurt Hindu society by making frivolous statements in a programme organised for a good cause.

As a politician, Awhad should speak in a diplomatic manner after thinking carefully and should not speak for or against any one community. Due to his statements, gestures, and tone, the image of Hindu society has been tarnished in the minds of other communities.

The letter demanding registration of an FIR against Awhad was handed over to Zone-10 Deputy Commissioner of Police Mahesh Reddy by a delegation led by Mumbai BJP Vice President Acharya Pawan Tripathi. The delegation included Mumbai BJP Yuva Morcha president Tejinder Singh Tiwana, BJP North West Mumbai general secretary Murji Patel and former corporator Pankaj Yadav.
