Delhi Traffic Police Issue Advisory For Independence Day Preparations

The Delhi Traffic Police have issued an advisory for the Independence Day full dress rehearsal on Tuesday. The event will take place at the Red Fort, leading to significant road closures.

Key roads around the Red Fort will be closed from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. Only authorized vehicles will be permitted in these areas. Roads affected include Netaji Subhash Marg, Lothian Road, SP Mukherjee Marg, Chandni Chowk Road, Nishad Raj Marg, Esplanade Road and its Link Road, Ring Road from Rajghat to ISBT, and Outer Ring Road from ISBT to IP Flyover.

Commuters are advised by Delhi traffic police to avoid areas without parking labels, such as C-Hexagon, India Gate, and Copernicus Marg. For travel between North and South Delhi, use Aurobindo Marg, Safdarjung Road, and other listed routes.

In the east-west corridor, alternative routes include NH-24, Nizamuddin Khatta, and Barapula Road. The Old Iron Bridge and Geeta Colony Bridge towards Shanti Van will be closed, but DND, NH-24 (NH-9), and Wazirabad Bridge will remain open.

Goods vehicles will be restricted between Nizamuddin and Wazirabad bridges from midnight August 12 to 11 a.m. August 13. Inter-state buses will also be restricted during this period.

City buses will not operate on Ring Road from midnight August 12 to 11 a.m. August 13 and between ISBT and NH-24 (NH-9)/NH T-point.

Attendees are advised not to bring cameras, binoculars, remote-controlled car keys, umbrellas, handbags, briefcases, or other listed items.
