Delhi Metro To Start From 4 Am On May 25 Amid Sixth Phase Of Polls

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Wednesday informed that metros on all lines will start operating from 4 am on May 25.  As per DMRC, trains will run at a frequency of 30 minutes on all the lines.

DMRC further informed that after 6 in the morning, Delhi Metros will operate as per the usual timing and frequency throughout the day.

Considering the 6th Phase of voting, which includes seats of Delhi as well, authorities have made this change.

The reason behind the decision is to provide facilities to the staff deployed for election duty.

The national capital will observe dry days from May 23 to May 25 and on June 4 as well. The Election Commission of India has taken this decision to maintain the public order during this time.

During the above-mentioned time, authorities will close all liquor stores and bars in the city.

8 States and union territories will go under poll in the sixth phase of voting. A total of 899 candidates are in the fray on May 25.

As per the ECI, the average number of candidates for a constituency in the sixth phase of polling is 15.

Elections for the 18th Lok Sabha are taking place in seven phases. Polling for five phases has already been concluded. The sixth and seventh phase is scheduled for May 25 and June 1 respectively. The counting will take place on June 4.
