Delhi Metro To Be Unavailable For Some Sections Of Blue Line On Sunday Due To Maintenance Work

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation  (DMRC) made the decision to implement train operation regulations on a section of the Blue Line on July 23, 2023 (Sunday). The operation will be put into practice in the initial few hours, consequent to planned maintenance work.

The segments that will be affected will be between Rajiv Chowk and Mandi House metro stations. In consequence, passengers intending to travel from Dwarka Sector-21 to Noida Electronic City or Vaishali must plan their trips accordingly.

The DMRC highlighted in a statement, “To undertake the scheduled maintenance work between Rajiv Chowk and Mandi House Metro stations on the Blue Line (Line-3&4 i.e. Dwarka Sec-21 to Noida Electronic City/Vaishali) on July 2023 (Sunday), train services on the Line will be regulated.”

As per the arrangement, till 6 AM from the start of revenue service between Rajiv Chowk and Madi House, the metro service will be unavailable. Moreover, unless the train services are resumed on this segment i.e. up to 6 AM, Barakhamba Road Metro station will stay closed.

Meanwhile, Delhi Metro will remain functional as per the normal timetable on other sections of the Blue Line i.e. from Dwarka Sec-21/Dwarka to Rajiv Chowk and Mandi House to Noida City Centre/Vaishali.

It is advised that the commuters who wish to travel beyond Rajiv Chowk or Mandi House stations or vice versa de-board at respective stations and use Yellow & Violet lines or vice versa to reach Mandi House or Rajiv Chowk stations as an alternative.

To ensure smooth execution, regular announcements will be made by the metro authorities at the stations as well as inside the train. Moreover, additional staff will be deployed to facilitate the passengers.

Speaking of train services from Noida City Centre to Noida Electronic City, the segment will start at 8 AM as per the usual Sunday timetable.
