Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi reported that her Facebook account was hacked, and she has been unable to access it for several days. In a social media post, Oberoi informed the public about the breach and assured them that efforts are underway to recover the account promptly.
An official from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) confirmed the hacking incident, stating that it occurred four to five days ago, leading to the mayor losing access to her account. Despite ongoing attempts by a technical team to restore the account, success has not been achieved yet. The official emphasized that no unauthorized activities or messages have been detected from the compromised account so far.
This isn’t the first time Oberoi has faced such an issue; the official mentioned a prior hacking incident approximately six to seven months earlier. If recovery efforts prove unsuccessful, the official stated that a formal complaint will be filed with the relevant authorities.
In a separate development earlier in the week, Mayor Oberoi took action by suspending the medical superintendent of MCD’s Hindu Rao Hospital due to alleged infrastructural irregularities. She directed senior officers from the MCD’s Health department to address these lapses promptly.
