Delhi LG VK Saxena Orders Probe Into Sandeep Dikshit’s Surveillance Allegations

Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena has directed the police commissioner to investigate allegations of surveillance made by Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit. The LG has sought a detailed report within three days.

Dikshit, a former MP and candidate for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections accused Punjab government intelligence personnel of repeatedly parking vehicles outside his residence. He claimed the actions were deliberate attempts to intimidate him.

In an official statement, the LG’s office confirmed receiving a representation from Dikshit. “He raised serious concerns about Intelligence personnel from the Punjab government allegedly visiting his residence,” the statement said.

Dikshit further alleged that these actions were orchestrated by AAP chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He suggested this could be an effort to discourage his participation in the elections.

The LG expressed concern over the allegations, emphasizing the importance of a fair democratic process. “Potential candidates should not face any form of intimidation or coercion during the election period,” the statement added.

The Delhi LG instructed the police commissioner to ensure a thorough investigation and maintain a fair political environment ahead of the elections.

Dikshit, who will contest against Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency, met the LG on Thursday. He also urged the LG to register a cheating case against AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi over alleged fraud in the ‘Mahila Samman Yojana’ scheme.

The police are now tasked with verifying the claims and submitting their findings promptly.
