Delhi LG Targets Delhi Government as the city floods with rainwater

There is a cold war going on between the Lieutenant General and Chief Minister of Delhi. Now this water logging has come up as an additional point to be raised by the LG of National capital. Mr. Saxena conducted an inspection of the affected areas on Tuesday morning. Followed by the inspection, the allegation came up. He further stated, “Waterlogging has become an annual ritual. The necessary preparations were not done and that led to this situation. I will try to ensure that this does not happen again.”

Delhi Minister hits back at Lt. Governor

As soon as the comment came from LG, Delhi Minister, and senior AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj reacted. He said, “Hasn’t LG Saab been claiming that he got all drains desilted and Yamuna cleaned? Didn’t he take media for several visits? What happened now? Now he is shamelessly blaming Delhi government? He should avoid playing dirty politics when people expect relief.”

The national capital has been suffering from a recent attack of rain. This past Saturday, there was a lot of rain, which left several regions flooded and caused major traffic delays. The issue was made worse when an overflowing dam in Haryana caused the Yamuna’s water level to rise. Residents battled to salvage their possessions from the pouring waters as some homes close to the river flooded.

The rains also caused significant road damage in well-known locales, with craters appearing on important thoroughfares like a road close to India Gate.
