Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Hails PM Modi For GST Reforms & Swadeshi Push

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta on Sunday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing landmark GST reforms and inspiring citizens to adopt the Swadeshi movement.

She urged people to make every home a symbol of Swadeshi and decorate every shop with Indian-made goods.

Reacting to PM Modi’s special address on the launch of GST 2.0, CM Gupta reposted his comments on X and highlighted his remarks that a ‘Savings Festival’ begins on the first day of Navratri.

She emphasised that MSMEs and small enterprises would greatly benefit from the next-generation GST.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva also welcomed the reforms, calling them a ‘big gift’ from the Modi government to citizens and traders ahead of the festive season.

He said the reforms would make essential goods cheaper, enable traders to expand their businesses, and reduce taxation-related legal hurdles.

“From traders and shopkeepers to the poor, middle class, youth, farmers, women, and entrepreneurs, this initiative will benefit everyone,” Sachdeva said.

He described the reforms as a ‘Festival of Savings’ for the people of Delhi.

Sachdeva added that the Modi government fulfilled the dream of ‘One Nation, One Tax’ in 2017. He said the government has now taken another major step to ease financial burdens on citizens.

He appealed to Delhi residents to support local products and choose Made-in-India goods this festive season to strengthen self-reliance.

In his address on Saturday, PM Modi urged state governments to support the Centre’s efforts to build a self-reliant India. He urged states to boost manufacturing and support Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Swadeshi campaigns.

“When the Centre and states move forward together, the dream of a self-reliant India will be fulfilled, every state will develop, and India will become a developed nation,” PM Modi said.

He hailed the next-generation GST reforms as historic and asserted that they would significantly advance the goal of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
