Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Distributes Bicycles To Schoolgirls; Pushes For Uninterrupted Education

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday conducted ‘Kanya Pujan’ in Pitampura and handed over bicycles to nearly 1,000 girls from nine schools. She reaffirmed her administration’s resolve to secure uninterrupted education for girls across the capital.

Addressing the media, Gupta stated that the programme seeks to eliminate persistent obstacles that disrupt girls’ academic journeys. She emphasised that every girl in Delhi should complete schooling, pursue higher studies, and achieve her ambitions without restraint.

The government, she asserted, will actively dismantle barriers hindering their progress.

The Chief Minister highlighted daily commuting challenges faced by students, particularly those travelling long distances.

Under the ‘Vidya Vahini’ initiative, the administration will provide bicycles to girls entering Class 9, ensuring safer and more convenient mobility throughout their school years.

CM Gupta further praised girls as embodiments of divine Shakti, drawing parallels with Goddess Durga and Saraswati. She expressed confidence in their future contributions to society and the nation.

The Chief Minister assured that institutional support, resources, and encouragement would remain readily available to help them complete their education successfully.

During the interaction, Gupta also criticised former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over allegations linked to the construction of a ‘Sheesh Mahal’ using public funds. She accused him of crossing the limits of propriety and indulging in financial misconduct.

Earlier, Delhi CM shared a message on social media marking ‘Kanya Pujan’, describing daughters as symbols of prosperity, strength, and divine grace. She noted that Durga Ashtami signifies the sacred power inherent in every girl and called for continued respect and empowerment.
