Day 6 Of ‘Pran Pratishtha’ Rituals To Witness Ceremonial Bath With Water From 114 ‘Kalash’

Today is the day 6 of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol, which is an auspicious step in the Pran Pratishtha festival. The day will begin with the deities’ daily puja, which is an essential part of the ongoing Pran Pratishtha rites. The sacred fire, or Havan, will be lit after the morning puja.

After that, the idol will have a ceremonial bath. The gods’s idol shall be purified symbolically with water from 114 Kalash (vases), each holding carefully medicinal liquids. The ‘Vyahati Hom,’ a rite offering sacred offerings into the sanctified fire, will take place in the evening. This will be followed by a night vigil with puja and aarti on a regular basis.

“Tomorrow on Sunday, daily puja of the deities with Havan will be done. After that the bathing of the idol with various medicated water from 114 Kalash (vases) will take place. There will be ‘Vyahati Hom’, night vigil, with regular evening puja and aarti,” Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth posted on X.

The fifth day of rituals went like this…

A tapestry of Vedic rites, including the gift of sugar and fruits, was witnessed on the fifth day of the Pran Pratishtha. Havan and other Vedic ceremonies, together with the daily prayers, kicked off the day. The erection and worship of 81 Kalash in the temple courtyard served as the focal point of the day’s rites.

“Today, on January 20, 2024, daily prayers, Havan, etc. were held. Rituals with sugar and fruits also took place. 81 Kalash were established and worshiped in the courtyard of the temple. Evening puja and aarti were also held,” the trust said.

Famous Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj created the idol of Shri Ram Lalla, which was put within the temple’s sanctum sanctorum on Friday. The initial image of the idol, which was concealed by a veil, was shown the day before at the sanctum sanctorum placement ceremony.
