During the telephone conversation, Naidu briefed Shah on the damage caused by Cyclone Murasu and the destruction left by the earlier Cyclone Arnab.
The Chief Minister highlighted losses to crops and property in several districts and sought adequate central assistance for rehabilitation and recovery.
Naidu thanked Shah for deputing a central team to assess the damage caused by Cyclone Arnab.
The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, meanwhile, expressed gratitude to Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and the people of Karnataka for extending assistance to the state.
Karnataka has, however, announced the deployment of 500 skilled personnel and equipment to support electricity restoration following Cyclone Arnab, which uprooted more than 15,000 electricity poles.
