COVID Mock Drills TO Take Place All Over India Today

COVID: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare agreed on Saturday to undertake simulated exercises today on December 27 at every health facility in the country. This is because of a spike in infection in various countries in response to the COVID alarm.

This is carried out to guarantee preparation in terms of oxygen support and ICU beds, among other preparatory steps, in the event of a spike in COVID cases in India.

The Ministry said on Saturday that it had been decided to undertake simulated drills on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at all health institutions (including those that have been classified as COVID-dedicated health facilities) nationwide.

Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister of Health, stated on Monday: “Tomorrow, a practise drill will be held at all COVID hospitals across the nation. The participation of the health ministers from each state will be at their level.”

These Are The Important Points For Covid:

The exercise will concentrate on elements such as the quantity of health facilities in each district, the number of isolation beds, oxygen-supported beds, ICU beds, ventilator-supported beds, and the optimal number of physicians, nurses, paramedics, AYUSH physicians, and other front-line personnel, such as ASHA and Anganwadi workers.

It will also focus on human resource capacity, including the accessibility of Advanced and Basic Life Support (ALS/BLS) ambulances, testing tools and reagents, and vital medicines, as well as healthcare workers skilled in ventilatory management techniques for serious patients.

Rajesh Bhushan, the union health secretary, wrote in a letter that “COVID-19 health facility preparedness is vital to guarantee that states and districts are in a condition of readiness to address rise in clinical care demands owing to any surge in cases.” “The purpose of this exercise is to assure operational readiness of these health institutions for handling of COVID-19,” he said.

Following the reporting of two further instances from Unnao and Agra, the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday mobilised the administrative apparatus to assess Covid readiness and management, including holding practise exercises at medical schools and hospitals around the state.

Officials from Delhi’s government started physically visiting all of the city’s government hospitals on Monday to evaluate their readiness for any circumstance in light of the surge in Covid instances in certain nations, according to the authorities.

In compliance with the orders from the Center, a simulated drill will be held at all municipal government hospitals today, Tuesday.

The number of coronavirus infections in India climbed by 196 in a single day.  The number of active cases marginally increased to 3,428. According to information that was updated on Monday by the Union Health Ministry. Almost 4.46 crore people had Covid cases in total (4,46,77,302).
