Counting Of Votes To Take Place At 81 Places In Uttar Pradesh, Security Arrangements Tight

Lucknow : The counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections of 80 Lok Sabha seats and four assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh will take place from 8 am on Tuesday at a total of 81 places in seven police Commissionerate and 68 districts. According to the Election Commission of India, three-tier security arrangements have been made at the counting center.

In view of security, more than 93 thousand police officers and employees have been deployed at the counting site. Along with this, CAPF and PAC companies have also been deployed. Apart from this, the social media team in every commissionerate and district is monitoring 24 hours to refute the misleading news and rumours spread on social media and take action. Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Deepak Kumar said in the press conference held in the auditorium of Lok Bhavan and Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar gave this on Monday.

During this, Director of Information and Public Relations Department Shishir Singh was also present. Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Deepak Kumar said that the counting sites in all the districts of the state will be monitored through CCTV. Along with this, a media gallery has also been constructed at the counting venue. There will be an information officer in charge of this, who will take the journalists on a tour of the counting hall from time to time.

DGP Prashant Kumar said that to strengthen the security arrangements at the counting venue, 160 Deputy Commissioners/Additional Superintendents of Police, 476 Assistant Commissioners of Police/ Deputy Superintendent of Police, 2248 Inspectors, 12883 Sub Inspectors, 20876 women constables, 50697 constables and 6149 home guards have been deployed. Along with this, 145 companies of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and 102 companies of PAC have been deployed.
He said that from security point of view, three-tier security arrangements have been ensured at the counting centre. Under this, the security of the first circle (Innermost cordon) has been ensured by CAPF, the security of the second circle (Inner cordon) has been ensured by PAC, District Police Force and the security of the third circle (Outer cordon) has been ensured by the District Police Force along with other supplementary forces. The 100 meter radius of the third circle (outer cordon) has been kept sterile.

DGP said that only authorized persons will be allowed to enter the centre. While entering, every person will be allowed entry only after frisking and checking by DFMD, HHMD. During this period, there will be a complete ban on carrying objectionable items and materials. Checking and frisking of women will be done by women police personnel only, keeping their privacy in mind. Special arrangements have also been made to avoid traffic jams around the counting venue.

Apart from this, arrangements have been made to deal with emergency situations along with fire brigade, ambulance, medical team and additional QRT teams. Not only this, additional police and reserve QRT teams have been deployed at sensitive places in various districts of the state. At the same time, PRV vehicles of UP 112 will continuously patrol at these places. DGP said that in view of the scorching heat and heat wave, arrangements for adequate drinking water, shade etc. has been ensured at the counting site.
