The Enforcement Directorate have identified 11 crore worth properties of a conman from Kolkata who duped people and companies in the name of getting tenders passed in West Bengal Health Department. Police have arrested to Budhaditya Chattopadhyay on July 11 on the charges of duping individuals and company.
According to sources, that ED officials had received information that properties were purchased with ill-gotten Proceeds.
Additionally, ED officials have information on how the accused made enormous sums of money through trading rare and exotic bird species.
According to sources, this week the ED counsel gave a special court under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) an update on the specifics of Budhaditya Chattopadhyay’s scam.

Additionally, Court granted permission to ED officials to question Budhaditya Chattopadhyay. He is incarcerated at the Presidency Central Correctional Home in South Kolkata.
The initial investigation of ED have found that accused pretended to be a Howard University research scholar. He duped people of crores of rupees promising them getting their tenders passed by West Bengal health department.
The Enforcement Directorate started its investigation filed in the matter 2022. It was found that the fraud has been taking place since 2019 following initial investigation by ED. Ultimately, ED arrested Budhaditya Chattopadhyay on July 11. Along with duping people of money ranging from 50,000 to Rs 1,00,000, he also did fraud with an organization. He defrauded a Bengaluru based organization of 26 crore rupees.
ED estimates that Budhaditya Chattopadhyay has duped different individuals and organizations of 35 crore rupees since 2019.
