Congress, today , released their first list of candidates for the upcoming elections for Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. The list consists of 144 candidates out of 230 member house. The highlight of the light is that for the Budhni Assembly seat, from where Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be contesting, the grand old party has fielded Vikram Munjal, who played the role of Hanuman in Anand Sagar’s TV serial Ramayana which were broadcasted in 2008.

Congress stalwart and Madhya Pradesh congress chief Kamal Nath has been fielded from his stronghold Chhindwada. Jaivardhan Singh, son of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh, will be contesting from Raghigath seat. He was a minister in the Kamal Nath government which was toppled by Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Congress is hoping to wrest the state from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The saffron outfit is in some pressure as it fielded a number of Union Ministers and national leaders. They, this time, is contesting the elections projecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s face and has refrained from projecting Shivraj Singh Chouhan as it’s Chief Ministerial candidate. It is believed that Shivraj is facing a massive wave of anti-incumbency.
