Congress’ Position ‘Not Very Favorable’ In Himachal: Jai Ram Thakur

Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur has said there are all kinds of possibilities in politics and the position of the Congress is not very favorable in Himachal Pradesh.

“There are all kinds of possibilities in politics and the position of the Congress is not very favorable in the state,” the former chief minister told PTI on Monday evening when asked about the probability of Bihar-like developments taking place in Himachal Pradesh.

The return of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to the NDA, according to Thakur, is a sign that the party is growing stronger and that everyone wants to follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The India bloc, according to the BJP leader, has no future because it has already begun to disintegrate even before it takes off.

He further stated that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Trinamool Congress (TMC), and Communist Party claim the party has no representation in Punjab, West Bengal, and Kerala, respectively, while the Samajwadi Party is giving the Congress 10 to 12 seats in Uttar Pradesh.

Additionally, Thakur attacked the Congress government in power in Himachal Pradesh, claiming that the state has reached a standstill in terms of development.

According to him, workers are demonstrating in the streets to demand their pay.

Thakur went on to say that in the previous 13 months, the state government had raised loans totaling Rs 14,000 crore.

“The guarantees promised by the Congress on the eve of the last assembly polls have not seen the light of the day, the public welfare schemes have been stopped and the people want to know what has the government done for them,” he stated.

In the meantime, the BJP has decided to take a tough stance against the state’s ruling Congress party during the next budget session, which is scheduled to take place from February 14 to February 29.

It was decided in the BJP legislature party meeting held under Thakur’s chairmanship that the issue of discrimination in disaster relief distribution would be taken up during the Budget session, said party spokesperson Rakesh Jamwal.
