Ashwini Vaishnaw lauded BJP’s stance to appoint a tribal leader Mohan Charan Majhi as its first CM in Odisha. However, the Railway Minister took the opportunity to criticise Congress for failing to appoint a tribal CM in the 21st century.
Following the election of Mohan Majhi as leader of the state assembly, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a post on platform X. He said that he worth thinking that Congress did not appoint any tribal CM in the 21st Century. However, he mentioned Northeast states as an exception to his statement.
He applauded the Bhartiya Janta Party for choosing a tribal face as its first Chief Minister in the state of Odisha.
Naming the four tribal ministers in the states ruled by the Bhartiya Janta Party, Ashwini said that the BJP has given four.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has retained Ashwini Vaishnaw as Railway Minister in the central cabinet.
