Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, PM Narendra Modi on Wednesday addressed a public rally in Surguja, Chhattisgarh.
During his rally address, PM Modi slammed Congress for their intention to impose an ‘Inheritance Tax,’ labeling it as a move to economically exploit the common people and the middle class.
PM warned that such actions would deplete the hard-earned resources of citizens, further exacerbating their financial burdens.
PM Modi asserted that when he talks about a developed India, it makes the Congress and certain global powers nervous.
He said that if India becomes powerful, it disrupts the agendas of some powers. If achieves self-reliance, it threatens their interests further.
Hitting out at Congress, PM Modi said, “Today, the BJP government is taking decisive measures against terrorism and Naxalism. Congress is actively backing individuals who instigate violence, even going so far as to label them as martyrs.
“Congress’s prominent leaders shed tears when terrorists are killed. Such actions have significantly eroded the trust of the nation in the Congress party,” the PM added.
PM Modi further added that when the Constitution was being drafted, it was decided under the leadership of Dr BR Ambedkar that there would be no reservation based on religion in India.
PM said, “Congress anti-Constitutional tendencies aim at providing reservation on a religious basis for vote-bank politics.”
Prime Minister Modi highlighted that the Congress consistently sought to provide 15% reservation to minorities, possibly at the expense of SC/ST/OBC reservations. This intent, reiterated in their 2009 and 2014 manifestos, disregarded the Indian constitution.
“In Karnataka, Congress has provided OBC reservation to minorities depriving the OBC community of their rights,” the PM added.
