Addressing a roadshow at Sirsa in Haryana, the Congress General Secretary on Tuesday said that there was a Congress wave in Haryana.
“There’s a massive Congress wave in Haryana and the Congress will clean sweep Haryana in these elections,” she said speaking to the media.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra reached Sirsa to campaign for her party and canvass votes for the party’s legislator Kiran Chaudhry.
During the nearly hour-long tour, Priyanka Gandhi happily acknowledged the people by waving and collecting garlands while traveling in an open car with Kumari Selja and the party’s legislator Kiran Choudhary.
“People are fed up with the politics of the BJP. Both unemployment and inflation are at an all-time high. There will be change,” Gandhi said encouraging the crowd to vote for Congress.
The former Haryana Chief, Selja Kumari has represented Sirsa and Ambala two times each in Parliament. Sirsa and Ambala both the constituencies are reserved for scheduled Castes. Selja has also been a Rajya Sabha MP from 2014 to 2020.
BJP has fielded Ashok Tanwar from the seat, displacing the ticket of Sunit Duggal who registered victory in this constituency in 2019.
The main fight in the seat of Sirsa is between Selja of Congress and Ashok Tanwar of BJP.
It’s interesting to note that Tanwar and Selja, who are running for office in Sirsa again after 26 years apart, are both previous state presidents of the Congress.
The polling in all 10 Lok Sabha seats of Haryana will take place on May 25.
