CMD Upendrra Rai Addresses Indian History, Slavery, Sanatan Dharma & Gita Philosophy

Upendrra Rai, CMD of Bharat Express, delivered a thought-provoking address focusing on Indian history, cultural identity, and philosophical traditions. He spoke at the Bharat Film Festival, where he emphasised the need to reinterpret India’s past through a civilisational lens.

CMD Upendrra Rai highlighted that narratives of Indian history often overemphasise periods of subjugation while overlooking the country’s intellectual and spiritual strength.

He stressed that India’s legacy extends far beyond episodes of foreign domination. He urged scholars and citizens to reassess historical discourse with greater balance and cultural awareness.

Upendrra Rai elaborated on the principles of Sanatan Dharma, describing it as a timeless framework rooted in universal values.

He stated that this tradition promotes harmony, duty, and spiritual evolution. He linked these ideals to India’s enduring resilience.

Upendrra Rai also referred to the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. He explained that the text offers guidance on duty, detachment, and moral clarity.

CMD Upendrra Rai noted that its philosophy remains relevant in modern governance and personal conduct.

He connected the concept of moksha, or spiritual liberation, to a broader understanding of human purpose.

Upendrra Rai asserted that Indian philosophy encourages inner growth alongside material progress. He emphasised that this dual approach distinguishes India’s worldview.

Rai further stated that platforms such as film festivals play a crucial role in shaping cultural narratives. He said cinema can effectively communicate India’s heritage and philosophical depth to global audiences.

He concluded by calling for a renewed focus on India’s civilisational identity.

Upendrra Rai urged intellectuals, artists, and policymakers to preserve and promote authentic narratives.

CMD Upendrra Rai’s address reinforced the importance of aligning historical interpretation with cultural truth and philosophical richness.
