CM Yogi Adityanath Orders Fair, Secure Conduct Of UPTET 2026

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday directed officials to ensure that the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 is conducted in a fair, transparent and secure manner.

Describing it as a crucial examination linked to the aspirations of lakhs of young people amid recent incidents of question paper leaks across various states.

Reviewing preparations for the examination scheduled from July 2 to 4, the Chief Minister said conducting the test is not merely an administrative responsibility but also a commitment towards safeguarding the future of candidates.

CM Yogi instructed officials to ensure that every candidate is provided with a safe, well-organised and stress-free examination environment without facing difficulties related to transport, accommodation, security or other basic facilities. He also directed the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission to conduct a separate Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for in-service teachers to provide them with adequate opportunities to secure eligibility.

The Chief Minister instructed district administrations to strengthen transport arrangements through coordination with roadways, railways and private operators, while ensuring effective traffic management before and after the examination. He also directed authorities to prevent unjustified price hikes in food and beverages and ensure drinking water, clean toilets, shaded waiting areas, uninterrupted power supply, firefighting systems and emergency medical facilities at all examination centres.

Officials must conduct a full rehearsal of arrangements a day before the examination, deploy only officers and staff with clean records, maintain the highest security standards for confidential examination material, and take prompt action against misinformation on social media.

UPTET 2026 will take place across 955 examination centres in 60 districts in five shifts between July 2 and 4.

A total of 19,94,661 candidates, including 17,67,180 from Uttar Pradesh and 2,27,481 from other states, will likely appear.
