A shocking incident of animal cruelty has surfaced in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna, where a man was captured on video beating and stomping on a defenseless puppy. The disturbing incident unfolded in Subhash Colony on Saturday, prompting the homeowner to file a formal complaint with the city police station, urging legal action against the assailant.
Expressing horror at the incident, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took to social media, condemning the act and ensuring swift and stringent measures to ensure justice. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also voiced his condemnation on the platform, asserting that the perpetrator must face penalties for such barbaric behavior.
The distressing video reveals two puppies approaching the man sitting on the porch of a closed shop, with one of them wagging its tail. Suddenly, the man violently throws one of the puppies onto the road, proceeds to stomp on it, and then abruptly leaves the scene.
This incident follows a series of recent instances of animal cruelty, highlighting a concerning trend. Last month in Chennai, a stray dog, beaten to death for biting 29 people on GA Road, tested positive for rabies. The victims received anti-rabies vaccinations, and the dog’s carcass was sent for a post-mortem.
In another disturbing case in Greater Noida, a 28-year-old man was arrested for sexually abusing a female dog and throwing her from his third-floor balcony in October.
The accused faces charges under Indian Penal Code Section 377 and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
