Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to convey Diwali greetings.
The two discussed ways to strengthen her government’s commitment to public service.
Taking to X, CM Gupta posted, “Paid a courtesy visit to the world’s most popular leader and India’s illustrious Prime Minister, the honourable Shri @narendramodi ji, and conveyed heartfelt Diwali greetings.”
“The esteemed Prime Minister ji’s company and his blessings inspire new energy and determination to serve Delhi with even greater dedication. Heartfelt thanks for your valuable time and guidance,” she further added.
Accompanied by her family, CM Gupta posed for group photographs with the Prime Minister. PM Modi had celebrated Diwali aboard INS Vikrant, India’s indigenous aircraft carrier. The gesture reflected both festive spirit and national pride.
Earlier in the day, on the occasion of Police Martyrs’ Day, the Chief Minister paid tribute to fallen police personnel.
Taking to X, CM Gupta posted, “On Police Martyrs’ Day, humble tribute to all brave police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the sacred duty of defending the motherland and serving the people. These sentinels, exemplars of dedication, discipline, and courage, are the true guardians of the nation’s identity.”
“Their loyalty and devotion will continue to inspire future generations on the path of service and duty. Every sentinel adorned in uniform is an unwavering resolve for India’s security,” she further added.
CM Gupta also reaffirmed her administration’s pledge to revive and clean the Yamuna River. She shared a video on X highlighting the government’s ongoing efforts.
“Under the guidance of Honourable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, the Delhi government is working at a war footing to make the Yamuna clean, healthy, and free-flowing. Every day, every effort is part of this resolve to restore the Yamuna’s pure stream to its life-giving form,” she posted on X.
On Sunday, CM Gupta visited Vasudev Ghat near Kashmiri Gate to review preparations for the upcoming Chhath Mahaparv. She directed officials to enhance facilities for devotees, including better cleanliness, lighting, security, and amenities.
An official statement said the Chief Minister emphasised the government’s commitment to this year’s Chhath festival. She assured that it would be celebrated in a grander, safer, and more organised manner than before.
