Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai Unveils Bastar 2.0 Roadmap After Meeting PM Modi

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has outlined an ambitious roadmap for the development of Bastar following his recent visit to Delhi, where he met PM Narendra Modi and senior party leaders. He highlighted significant progress in curbing Naxalism, attributing the achievement to the Prime Minister’s leadership, the resolve of Amit Shah, and the efforts of security forces.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister noted that Bastar, long affected by left-wing extremism, is now poised for transformation. He shared details of the Bastar 2.0 initiative, aimed at accelerating development across sectors such as agriculture, forest produce, animal husbandry, fisheries, tourism, and homestay projects.

The plan seeks to bring infrastructure, employment opportunities, and essential services to the tribal-dominated region, which remained underdeveloped for decades.

With improved security conditions, the government is shifting its focus towards large-scale socio-economic growth.

Bastar 2.0 also emphasises modernising agriculture through improved irrigation and advanced techniques, while enhancing the value of forest produce like tendu leaves and mahua to increase incomes for tribal communities.

Expansion of animal husbandry and fish farming will likely generate sustainable livelihoods in remote areas.

Tourism and homestay initiatives form a key pillar of the strategy, promoting Bastar’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and traditional arts.

The Chief Minister also discussed major infrastructure projects, including airport expansion, railway connectivity, and healthcare facilities, and invited the Prime Minister to visit Bastar after the monsoon to launch key projects.
