Instead of handling the law and order situation in the capital city, the top police officials are busy with corrupt practices. Some SHOs are accused of corruption, while others are facing repercussions for not obeying their superiors, leading to chaos within the Delhi Police. The department seems to be running like a circus due to various issues. This situation has resulted in the removal of four SHOs from their positions.
The Delhi Police is struggling with corruption and lack of discipline, and it is becoming uncontrollable. In some serious cases, no actions are being taken against the culprits, while in illegal construction cases, some officers are involved in taking bribes. Surprisingly, instead of taking action against such cases, several officers are angry because their own wrongdoings are being exposed. The department is witnessing a strange circus due to weak leadership, where most officers are operating as they please.
Four SHOs have been transferred by the Delhi Police headquarters on Thursday. The SHOs include Shailendra Jakhar from Adarsh Nagar, Inspector Investigation Rajendra Singh, and ASI Kuldeep Singh. Additionally, the name of Rakesh Kumar has been written in place of Arvind Pratap in the order issued by the police headquarters.
One case in Adarsh Nagar involved mishandling in filing a false complaint related to the death of a woman, leading to negligence. The involvement of officers at different levels, including the SHO and the investigation officer, was suspected. As a result, these officers were transferred to the Security Branch for departmental investigation.
In RK Puram, the murder of two sisters by shooting on June 18 raised suspicions of involvement in illegal activities and gambling. A person who escaped the attack and the attackers were engaged in illegal gambling activities. There was animosity among them, leading to the crime. Interestingly, there are ongoing disputes between the SHO and other officers in dealing with other illegal construction cases.
Mahesh Kumar, the SHO of Jamia Nagar, was also transferred to the Delhi Police Academy. The area is known for large-scale illegal constructions and gambling. There have been allegations even against senior officers at the DCP level. It is worth noting that there is often indecisiveness in dealing with illegal construction cases in the police court. Allegedly, a DCP was not keen on taking action in some cases, as those involved were close to him. However, the SHO in the area was not willing to compromise in such cases, leading to conflicts between them.
The case of Lakshmi Nagar, where the SHO Ramesh Prasad Singh was transferred to the Third Battalion, is also intriguing. He had a special connection with an Spl CP, and as a result, he did not pay much attention to other senior officers. This displeased a female IPS officer who had been trying to get him transferred for a long time but couldn’t because of his connection with the Spl CP. However, due to her dissatisfaction with the Police Headquarters’ response to the Chinese maze case, she decided to reveal her grievances. She claimed that she was not allowed to work freely, and eventually, the hidden files were exposed, leading to the SHO’s removal from his position.
