The CBI’s probe into the scandal began after Patna Police uncovered the leak on the day of the exam.

Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police initially handled the case, which identified several key suspects, including the alleged mastermind, Sanjeev Mukhiya from Nalanda District.

Previously, the CBI arrested four third-year students from Patna AIIMS on 18 July.

Additional arrests included two MBBS students from Bharatpur, Rajasthan, and one from RIMS Ranchi.

After the Union Education Ministry recommended it, the CBI took over the investigation to probe the extensive network involved in the leak.
