Caste census is an X-ray of the country that reveals everything : Rahul Gandhi

PRAYAGRAJ:

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the caste census is an X-ray of the country that “reveals everything.” Caste census is your (youth’s) weapon, and you must determine your population. He was addressing a crowd on his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra here on Sunday.

He further said that while OBCs, Dalits, and tribals make up 73 per cent of the population, they own none of India’s top 200 enterprises. “Second, determine your percentage of the country’s wealth,” he added. “How much money do the 73 per cent  castes have in this country? The caste census is like an X-ray of the country. This will reveal everything,” he explained.

Gandhi summoned a student from the throng to his vehicle and inquired, “Which class do you belong to?” The youngster responded that he was from the OBC group. Regarding this, Gandhi remarked, “The OBC class in the country is 50 per cent, Dalits are 15 per cent and tribals are eight percent.”

“Youths like yourself have no future in this nation. Your (OBC, Dalit, Tribal) population is 73 per cent , however none of India’s top 200 enterprises are owned by an OBC or Dalit. Only three members from your category are among the top 90 IAS officials in the country. You do not have a single person in the media.

Gandhi further claimed that no one from the OBC or tribal categories attended the Ayodhya Ram temple dedication event on January 22. During the public meeting, numerous students stood with signs denouncing the leak of exam papers. “This (paper leak) is a way to stop you from moving forward,” the former Congress president explained.

Gandhi accused the government of wiping off the loans of rich businessmen, claiming that the BJP has never forgiven farmer loans. Loans of Rs 14 lakh billion to 10-15 businessmen have been forgiven, he stated. “Industrialists ask for bank loans worth lakhs of crores of rupees and they get the loan within seconds, but Dalits and backward people are repelled by authorities when seeking loans from banks.”

Congress leader Pramod Tiwari stated that Gandhi arrived at the Swaraj Bhawan immediately from the Prayagraj airport. He visited Congress workers there before embarking on the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra. The yatra will travel to Mauaima via Teliarganj, Phaphamau, and Holagarh, where it will halt. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, State Congress President Ajay Rai, former MLA Anugrah Narayan Singh, Shekhar Bahuguna, Sanjay  Tiwari,   Kishore Varshney, Parvez Siddiqui,  Pratima Tripathi,  Abhin Varshney , Irshad Ullah and others attended the yatra, which began at 4 p.m. in an open jeep.
