BSF’s 21st Investiture Ceremony Held, NSA Ajit Doval Delivers Keynote Address

The 21st Investiture Ceremony of the Border Security Force (BSF) was recently held at the Rustamji Memorial, attended by numerous senior army and security officials. This annual event, which includes the BSF Investiture Ceremony and the Rustamji Memorial Lecture, honors BSF officers for their exceptional bravery and contributions.

The Rustamji Memorial Lecture serves as a vital forum for discussions on critical issues related to border security and national defense. During this year’s program, the BSF’s significant contributions to the nation’s security were highlighted.

Honoring Brave Border Guards

BSF Director General Nitin Aggarwal announced that 10 courageous border guards were being awarded the Police Medal for their bravery. Of these, seven had made the ultimate sacrifice. Their family members were present to receive the medals. DG Aggarwal expressed his gratitude to all the BSF personnel, both serving and retired, for their unwavering dedication and commitment.

India as an Arms Exporter

National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, who also attended the event, delivered a keynote lecture. Doval emphasized that more secure and well-defined borders would have accelerated India’s progress. He noted the substantial increase in the country’s power over the past decade.

“Today, India is changing, and we are living in transformative times,” Ajit Doval stated. “In the next ten years, our country will not only be one of the leading economies of the world but will also rank among the most advanced and powerful military nations. India will be self-reliant, transitioning from an importer to a major exporter of arms and equipment.”

Focus on Border Security

Ajit Doval praised the Modi government for its special focus on border security, with visible results. He highlighted the Prime Minister’s tradition of celebrating Diwali with BSF, ITBP, and Army personnel at remote border locations. Additionally, he credited PM Modi for initiating a survey of 12,000 villages adjacent to the border, emphasizing that when top leaders grasp the importance of border security, significant progress is made automatically.
