Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and other BRICS leaders accompanied PM Modi during the visit as India hosts the 18th BRICS Summit under its chairship.
The two-day Bharat Innovates Exposition showcases India’s deep-tech innovations and began at Bharat Mandapam ahead of the summit.
The Ministry of Education organised the event in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs to provide a global platform for innovations emerging from India’s higher education ecosystem.
The initiative seeks to strengthen long-term partnerships between Indian startups, universities, laboratories and research parks and global stakeholders, including investors, corporations, incubators, research institutions and governments.
The BRICS Bharat Innovates Exposition is the second major showcase of India’s deep-tech startups in 2026, following the first edition held in Nice, France, in June.
The New Delhi exposition features 37 Indian deep-tech startups selected from 120 ventures that participated in the Nice edition.
India’s BRICS Chairship theme focuses on resilience, innovation, cooperation and sustainability.
At the gala dinner, guests enjoyed a vegan menu, the ‘Navarasa’ cultural show and the BRICS Symphony, celebrating diversity and unity.
