Bomb Threat on Delhi-Pune Flight: A bomb threat was reported on a Vistara flight traveling from Delhi to Pune at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) in Delhi. Following the threat, all passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft along with their belongings. Security experts’ teams reached the IGI Airport and conducted a precautionary inspection of the Vistara Airlines plane in the isolation bay. During this process, passengers and their relatives faced inconvenience in reaching their destinations.
According to information, the GMRC call center received a phone call on Friday (August 18) regarding a bomb threat on the Vistara flight. Senior officials of the CISF and Delhi Police deployed for airport security stated that during the investigation, no suspicious items have been found on the plane so far. The thorough inspection inside and outside the aircraft has caused delays in passengers reaching their destinations.
Earlier, on June 9, after a complaint of a bomb in a passenger’s bag, security checks were conducted on all passengers and the aircraft at Delhi Airport. In the process, flight UK-941 from Delhi to Mumbai was delayed for two hours. A nominated committee consisting of security, intelligence, airport operations, and aviation agencies was summoned for the aircraft’s inspection. However, the bomb threat turned out to be a mere rumor.
Meanwhile, on July 28, a 47-year-old professor was arrested on allegations of sexually harassing a 24-year-old female doctor onboard an IndiGo Airlines flight from Delhi to Mumbai. The alleged incident occurred shortly before landing at Mumbai Airport. In this case, Mumbai Police stated that after the female passenger’s complaint, the arrested professor Rohit Shrivastava was placed under judicial custody. He was later released on bail.
