Boatmen Of Prayagraj Sangam Hail PM’s Leadership On His 75th Birthday

As the country observes the Prime Minister’s 75th birthday on Wednesday, messages of goodwill are being expressed nationwide.

Among them are the Nishad boatmen of Prayagraj’s Sangam, who attribute marked improvements in their lives to the leadership of the Prime Minister.

Prayagraj recently hosted the Maha Kumbh, the world’s largest religious gathering, which attracted millions of devotees from across India and abroad.

For the boatmen community, the event was more than a spiritual milestone, bringing substantial economic benefits through steady work and increased earnings.

In conversations with IANS, boatmen of varying ages described the transformation they have experienced since 2014. They credited both the Prime Minister and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for driving positive change.

Vikku Nishad, with 18 years in the profession, recalled, “Before 2014, things were tough. But after PM Modi and CM Yogi came, our economic condition has improved. We have health insurance now, we’ve received benefits under government schemes, and life is more secure. The Rs 2 lakh health insurance has been a big help to many.”

Echoing this, Nanka Nishad, who has worked as a boatman for three decades, said, “We’ve seen real development — from better roads to doorstep ration distribution. Today, our children go to school, we have access to healthcare, and we earn a stable income. There has never been a Prime Minister like Modiji. The entire Nishad community is happy and proud.”

The boatmen further emphasised that schemes related to health, ration supply, and employment have directly reached their households.

On this special occasion, they extended heartfelt wishes for the Prime Minister’s good health and long life.

“On his 75th birthday, we pray for his good health. May he remain our Prime Minister for years to come,” they said together.
