BJP Targets INDIA Bloc With Satirical Poster On Seat-Sharing Rifts

The Bihar unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a fresh poster attack on the INDIA bloc (the alliance of RJD, Congress, and Left parties), alleging sharp internal rifts over seat-sharing and claiming their only ‘aim and mission’ in the coming elections is to capture power at any cost.

Taking a swipe at what it calls the ‘ghamandiya’ alliance, the BJP shared a caricature that portrays supposed divisions within the bloc ahead of the Assembly polls.

The satirical poster depicts alliance partners jostling aggressively to secure the maximum number of seats. It also mocks the recently held ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, suggesting the bloc is caught up in a chaotic seat tussle.

Posting the artwork on social media, the BJP wrote, “In Ghamandiya, there is intense discord, and preparations for a full-scale brawl are underway. Bihar is watching – the scramble for the chair continues.”

Adding further in Hindi, it remarked, “Satta hi maksad, swarth hi aadhar hai.” This means power is the sole purpose and self-interest its foundation.

CWC Meeting in Patna

This jibe at the INDIA bloc comes on the day the Congress Working Committee (CWC), the party’s top decision-making body, holds a meeting in Patna.

Just days earlier, Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav had sought to rally support against the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government through a two-week-long ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’, raising allegations of electoral malpractice during the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive.

The ongoing CWC meeting will likely reinforce the Congress’ accusations of ‘vote theft’ and highlight concerns over the SIR process in Bihar.

Ahead of the session, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said the state stands at a crossroads, between ‘politics of hope, social justice, and development’ on one hand, and ‘hatred, violence, rampant unemployment, and the destruction of the Constitution’ on the other.

“Rahul, Tejashwi and the INDIA alliance have already warned the people about the BJP’s nefarious ways and fight against their efforts to rig the upcoming election,” he added.
