BJP MP Pratap Sarangi Injured In Altercation Outside Parliament; Accuses Rahul Gandhi Of ‘Pushing’

A fresh controversy erupted outside Parliament on Thursday as BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi pushed a fellow Member of Parliament, causing him to fall and sustain a head injury.

Sarangi claimed that he stood near the stairs when Gandhi pushed an MP, causing the MP to fall on him.

Speaking to reporters, Sarangi stated, “Rahul Gandhi pushed a member of Parliament who fell on me after which I fell down. I was standing near the stairs when Rahul Gandhi came and pushed an MP who then fell on me.”

In response, Rahul Gandhi denied any intentional wrongdoing. He explained that he tried to enter Parliament when BJP MPs protesting near the entrance pushed and threatened him. Gandhi mentioned that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was also pushed during the altercation.

“This might be on your camera. I was trying to go inside through the Parliament entrance, but BJP MPs were trying to stop me, push me and threaten me. This has happened. Yes, this has happened (Mallikarjun Kharge being pushed). But we do not get affected by jostling. But this is the entrance and we have the right to go in. BJP MPs were trying to stop us from going in,” Rahul Gandhi asserted.

He further stated that the central issue is the BJP’s attacks on the Constitution and its disrespect towards Ambedkar’s legacy.

This comes as BJP MPs staged a protest on Parliament grounds, accusing the Congress party of insulting Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Chants of ‘Babasaheb Ambedkar ji ka apmaan nahi chalega’ echoed through the Parliament grounds. The BJP displayed banners stating, ‘Ambedkar showed us the path, Congress misled’.

Giriraj Singh Criticizes Gandhi Family For Not Awarding Bharat Ratna To Dr. Ambedkar

Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh criticized the Gandhi family, claiming they received the Bharat Ratna but failed to award it to Dr. Ambedkar.

“Congress party is the biggest sinner for disrespecting Babasaheb. The whole family took the Bharat Ratna and didn’t give it to Babasaheb. Congress party should fast for 24 hours and take a vow of silence to atone for their sins,” he said.

Meanwhile, Opposition MPs from the INDIA bloc, led by Rahul Gandhi, protested in Parliament demanding the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah over his comments about Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Gandhi, along with MPs such as Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Sanjay Raut, wore blue attire to show solidarity with Ambedkar’s legacy.

The protests intensified following controversial remarks by Amit Shah in a speech in the Rajya Sabha, which led to the adjournment of both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

The situation sparked a political firestorm, with Congress calling for Shah’s resignation, while BJP leaders continued to attack the Opposition over the matter.
